Hanscom Field is the largest general aviation airport in New England and handles the bulk of private charter traffic for the Boston area. Logan International accepts private jets but charges premium handling fees and is slot-constrained during peak hours. Hanscom is the practical alternative for most charter passengers, with shorter ramp times and easier ground access.

The airport has noise abatement procedures that restrict certain jet operations during late-night and early-morning hours. If your flight involves an early departure or late arrival, confirm with your operator that the schedule is compliant. This is a working airport shared with Hanscom Air Force Base, so expect some military activity on the field.

Signature Flight Support operates the primary FBO at Hanscom, with full service including fueling, crew facilities, and passenger lounges. The airport does not have a permanent CBP presence, so international arrivals require advance coordination for customs clearance.

Boston's Back Bay and Financial District are roughly 17 miles southeast, a 35-45 minute drive under normal conditions. The Route 128 corridor cities (Waltham, Burlington, Woburn, Lexington) are 10-15 minutes by car. Cambridge and MIT are about 14 miles east, typically 25-30 minutes. Car service from KBED to downtown Boston runs $90-130 depending on the operator. Concord and Lexington are under 10 miles. Traffic on I-95/Route 128 and US-3 can extend drive times significantly during morning and evening rush hours.
