Oakland County International Airport

Oakland County International Airport is the main general and business aviation airport for Oakland County, one of the wealthiest counties in Michigan. It sits in Waterford Township near Pontiac, well positioned for clients heading to Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Troy, Auburn Hills, and Rochester Hills without routing through the congestion of Detroit Metro (DTW). The airport has two runways, with the primary at 8,001 feet, which handles virtually any business jet without restriction.

The airport is county-operated and sees a mix of charter traffic, fractional operations, and corporate flight departments serving the automotive industry and its suppliers. Because it has no commercial airline service, ramp access and FBO coordination are straightforward. Multiple operators maintain a local presence, and the ramp is typically uncongested compared to DTW or Willow Run.

Downtown Detroit is roughly 30 miles southeast, typically 35 to 45 minutes by car depending on I-75 traffic. The Bloomfield Hills and Troy office corridor is 15 to 20 miles away, about 20 minutes in normal conditions. Auburn Hills, home to Stellantis North America headquarters, is approximately 10 miles east.
