Nashville International Airport

BNA handles commercial and private traffic on the same field, which means runway access is generally unconstrained but ground delays can build during peak commercial push times, typically 6-8am and 4-7pm. Private arrivals and departures use the FBO ramp, separated from the commercial terminal. Wilson Air Center and Signature Flight Support both operate at BNA and offer the full range of services: fuel, ground handling, crew cars, rental cars, and catering.

The airport operates 24 hours with no published curfew, though noise abatement procedures apply between 11pm and 6am on certain runway configurations. There are no slot requirements and no prior permission needed for domestic arrivals. International arrivals can clear customs on-site through CBP, which has a facility at BNA.

Nashville draws a mix of music industry traffic, corporate travel, and leisure visitors heading to the broader Middle Tennessee area. During major events like CMA Fest (June) and the NFL draft when it visits, ramp space tightens and FBO availability should be confirmed well in advance.

Downtown Nashville is 8 miles from the airport and takes 15 to 25 minutes by car, depending on time of day. Interstate 40 is the primary route, and traffic on the downtown connector can stack during evening hours. Rideshare pickup is at the commercial terminal, but FBO staff typically arrange car service directly to the ramp for private arrivals. Several car rental companies operate on-site.

Franklin and Brentwood, the main southern suburbs, are 20 to 25 miles out and run about 30 minutes without traffic. Opryland and the Gaylord Opryland Resort are 5 miles north, roughly 10 minutes. Helicopter transfers are not a standard option from BNA given the short ground distances involved.
