King County International Airport - Boeing Field

Boeing Field sits 3 miles south of downtown Seattle and is the primary airport for private and charter operations in the area. Sea-Tac (KSEA) handles commercial traffic; BFI is where private passengers arrive without the terminal congestion. The airport shares ramp space with Boeing's flight test operations, which means large Boeing aircraft regularly use the field and can affect ramp availability, particularly on the south end near the museum.

The main runway (13L/31R) is 10,000 feet, long enough for any business jet including ultra-long-range aircraft. The airport operates 24 hours. There are noise abatement procedures in effect, particularly for departures over residential areas, but no hard curfew. Customs and Border Protection services are available for international arrivals.

Downtown Seattle is 3 to 4 miles north, typically 10 to 15 minutes by car outside of rush hour. During peak traffic on I-5, add 15 to 20 minutes. Bellevue and the Eastside are roughly 20 to 25 minutes via the I-90 bridge. Sea-Tac Airport is 8 miles south, useful for passengers connecting to commercial flights. Car service and black car pickups are straightforward from the FBO ramp. There is no light rail access to BFI; car service is the practical option.
