Seattle Paine Field International Airport

KPAE sits in Everett, 25 miles north of downtown Seattle. It shares runways with Boeing's Everett delivery center, where 747, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft are assembled and flight-tested. Scheduled commercial service launched here in 2019, but private aviation sees none of the congestion that characterizes SeaTac (KSEA) or Boeing Field (KBFI). No slot requirements, no ATC queue, and ramp access is straightforward.

For passengers whose destination is anywhere north of Seattle, Snohomish County, Whidbey Island, the San Juans by connecting transport, or the north Eastside, KPAE eliminates 20 to 30 minutes of freeway driving compared to landing further south. The airport handles full-size cabin jets without issue.

CBP services are available for international arrivals. Coordinate with your FBO in advance, particularly for after-hours or weekend arrivals, as staffing may require prior notice.

Downtown Seattle is 25 miles south, typically 35 to 45 minutes on I-5 depending on traffic. Bellevue and the Eastside run about 40 to 50 minutes. Mukilteo, where the Washington State Ferry departs for Whidbey Island, is roughly 5 minutes from the airport. Snohomish is 15 minutes east.

Car service is available through Seattle-area providers and should be arranged in advance. Rental cars are on the field. Lynnwood, with light rail connections into Seattle, is about 15 minutes south.
