Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport

Charles B. Wheeler sits on the Missouri River just north of the downtown loop, putting private jet passengers closer to Kansas City's core than any other airport in the metro. There is no commercial airline traffic here, no slot requirements, and no congestion from airline operations. The airport handles business aviation and charter exclusively.

FBO facilities are available on the field with standard services including fuel, ramp handling, and lounge access. The proximity to downtown is the airport's primary advantage: passengers arriving for meetings, events at the T-Mobile Center, or stays in the Crossroads Arts District have a substantially shorter surface transfer than they would from Kansas City International (KCI), which sits 18 miles to the northwest.

Downtown Kansas City is 1.5 miles from the field, typically a 5 to 8 minute drive depending on time of day. The Power & Light District, the Kansas City Convention Center, and the River Market neighborhood are all within 10 minutes by car. Country Club Plaza is 4 miles south, around 10 to 12 minutes. Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums are approximately 11 miles southeast, 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic. Car service and rental options are available through the FBOs on field.
