Naples Municipal Airport

Naples Municipal Airport is a dedicated general aviation facility with no scheduled commercial service, which means the ramp, FBOs, and terminal experience are built entirely around private aircraft. The airport handles a high volume of jet traffic, particularly from January through April when the Naples winter season brings heavy demand. During peak season, ramp space fills quickly and FBO hangar availability tightens, so advance coordination with Sheltair or Atlantic Aviation is worth doing.

The airport sits inside a residential area, and noise abatement procedures apply. Jet departures follow specific departure headings and climb profiles to reduce noise over nearby neighborhoods. Pilots and operators know this, but it can affect departure sequencing and occasionally adds a few minutes to block time. There are no slot requirements, but peak-season mornings can see ground delays.

Facilities are solid for a general aviation airport of this size. Both FBOs offer lounge space, rental cars, and catering coordination. Hangar space for transient aircraft is available but books out weeks ahead during season.

Downtown Naples (5th Avenue South, Third Street South) is 3 to 4 miles from the airport, typically a 10-minute drive. Marco Island is 23 miles south, about 35 minutes. Bonita Springs and Estero are 15 to 20 minutes north. Fort Myers and RSW are roughly 40 miles and 45 minutes away.

Car service is the standard option. Naples has several on-demand black car operators and national brands like Carey and Blacklane serve the area. Rental cars are available at both FBOs. Miami is about 110 miles east via I-75 (Alligator Alley), typically 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on traffic.
