Chicago Executive Airport

Chicago Executive is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country by total operations. It has no commercial airline traffic, which means the ramp, FBOs, and terminals are built entirely around private and charter passengers. Runway 16/34 is 5,001 feet, suitable for most midsize jets and smaller heavy aircraft.

The airport operates under a noise abatement curfew that restricts certain aircraft categories during late-night hours. If your departure or arrival falls near midnight, confirm with your operator that your aircraft type is permitted during that window. This is especially relevant for heavier jets.

FBO options on the field include Signature Flight Support and Million Air, both offering full ground handling, fuel, lounges, and catering coordination. Customs and Border Protection is available on an on-call basis for international arrivals, so notify your operator well in advance if you're clearing customs here.

Downtown Chicago (the Loop) is about 20 miles south, typically a 30 to 45 minute drive depending on traffic on I-94 or US-41. The North Shore suburbs, including Winnetka, Lake Forest, Northbrook, and Evanston, are 10 to 25 minutes by car, which is the main reason passengers choose KPWK over Midway or O'Hare. Rosemont and the convention corridor near O'Hare is about 15 minutes west.

Car services from Chicago's North Shore operate regularly from KPWK. Most FBOs can arrange ground transportation on request. There is no rail connection from the airport.
