Sioux Falls Regional Airport (also called Joe Foss Field) handles both commercial and private traffic out of a single facility. For private passengers, Silverhawk Aviation is the primary FBO, offering full-service ground handling, fuel, and passenger amenities. The airport sits at 1,429 feet elevation on the eastern South Dakota prairie, with no slot restrictions and no prior permission requirements for domestic arrivals.

The airport sees moderate commercial traffic from carriers including Delta, United, and American, but congestion is rarely an issue for private operations. Ramp access is straightforward, and Silverhawk maintains a dedicated private terminal area separate from the commercial concourses.
