Orlando International Airport

KMCO is one of the busiest airports in the United States, handling over 50 million passengers annually. Private jets use dedicated FBO facilities on the airfield, separate from the commercial terminals. Signature Aviation operates the primary FBO at MCO, with full fuel, hangar, and passenger services. The airport runs 24 hours year-round, which matters for early departures and late arrivals common with theme park itineraries.

Because MCO shares airspace with heavy commercial traffic, expect ATC delays during peak hours, particularly Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings. If your destination is downtown Orlando rather than the resort corridor, Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) is 4 miles north of downtown and significantly less congested. For parties heading to Disney, Universal, or the convention center, MCO is the more practical choice given proximity to those destinations.

CBP customs services are available at MCO for international arrivals, with a dedicated international FBO processing area. The airport has no private jet slot requirements, but ramp space at peak holiday periods fills quickly and advance hangar reservations are advisable.

Downtown Orlando is 6 miles northwest, typically 15 to 20 minutes by car. Walt Disney World is 22 miles southwest, 25 to 35 minutes depending on I-4 traffic. Universal Studios runs about 14 miles, 20 to 25 minutes. The Orange County Convention Center is 13 miles, 20 minutes. Port Canaveral cruise terminals are 50 miles east, roughly 50 minutes on the Beachline Expressway.

Rideshare pickup is available at the FBO. Most operators arrange dedicated car service for charter passengers, which avoids the commercial terminal ground traffic entirely. Rental cars are available on-site. There is no scheduled helicopter transfer service from MCO.
