Camarillo International Airport

Camarillo sits in the middle of the corridor between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, which makes it useful for passengers traveling to Malibu, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Ojai, or the Ventura coast without fighting LAX or Burbank. The airport sees no scheduled commercial service, so ramp access and FBO operations move quickly.

The control tower operates during daytime hours only. Overnight arrivals and departures are uncontrolled. The airport has noise abatement procedures in effect during late night hours, and jet operators should confirm departure times with the FBO if flying before 7am or after 10pm. Runway 26 is the primary runway at approximately 6,000 feet, suitable for most light and midsize jets. Heavy aircraft operators should verify performance data given the runway length.

Three operators actively base at or use KCMA: Cirrus Aviation, Sun Air Jets, and Xcel Jet Management. FBO services including fuel, catering coordination, and crew cars are available during normal operating hours.

Camarillo is about 15 miles from Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village, a 20-minute drive under normal conditions. Malibu runs about 25 miles southeast, typically 30 to 40 minutes. Ventura and the Channel Islands Harbor are 15 miles west. Ojai is 20 miles north, roughly 25 minutes. Downtown Los Angeles is 60 miles, which can run 60 to 90 minutes on the 101 depending on the time of day.

Car services operate out of Camarillo and the broader Ventura County area. Rental cars are available at the airport. For destinations closer to Los Angeles, passengers connecting from the east should weigh traffic timing carefully, as afternoon and evening 101 congestion can double drive times.
