Cannes Mandelieu Airport

Cannes Mandelieu is the default choice for private arrivals into the Côte d'Azur when passengers want direct access to Cannes, Antibes, or the western Riviera without routing through Nice's commercial traffic. The airport handles almost exclusively general aviation and business jets, which means a genuinely fast ground experience: ramp-to-car times under 10 minutes are typical outside of peak events.

The airport becomes extremely congested during major events. The Cannes Film Festival (mid-May), MIPIM (March), and MAPIC (November) push the airport to capacity. Slots become mandatory during these periods, lead times extend significantly, and parking can be allocated weeks in advance. If your trip coincides with any major Cannes event, coordinate with your handler early. Nice Côte d'Azur (LFMN), 25 km east, is an alternative that handles international customs and has more ground infrastructure, though it involves commercial airport procedures.

The airport has a noise curfew and does not operate around the clock. Operations are generally restricted overnight. Confirm departure times with your handler if you need an early morning or late evening movement, particularly for jets with higher noise certification levels.

Central Cannes (La Croisette) is 5 km from the airport, roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car outside of peak hours. Antibes is about 12 km east, 15 to 20 minutes. Nice city center is 30 km and takes 35 to 50 minutes depending on traffic on the A8. Monaco is approximately 55 km, typically 50 to 70 minutes by road. St. Tropez is around 80 km via the coast road, often 90 minutes or more in summer.

Helicopter transfers to Monaco, St. Tropez, and other Riviera destinations are available and commonly used during peak season when road traffic is heavy. Heli Air Monaco and other operators offer scheduled and charter services from Mandelieu. Car services meeting at the FBO apron are the standard arrangement; taxi availability on-demand is limited.
