Toulon-Hyères Airport

Toulon-Hyères sits on the western Côte d'Azur, between Marseille and Cannes, and is the practical choice for passengers heading to Hyères, the Var coast, or the peninsula around Saint-Tropez. It shares the field with the French Navy (Base Aéronavale de Hyères), which means military traffic is part of daily operations, but private and charter movements use the civil terminal without significant friction. It is quieter and less congested than Cannes Mandelieu in peak summer months, when the Riviera airports fill up quickly.

The facility has customs and immigration clearance, which makes it usable for flights arriving from outside the Schengen Area. Handling is available through the civil terminal. The airport is not open 24 hours, so early departures or late arrivals should be coordinated with your handler in advance, especially in the low season when staffing is reduced.

Hyères town center is roughly 5km from the terminal, about 10 minutes by car. Toulon city center is 18km west, typically 20-25 minutes in normal traffic. Saint-Tropez is approximately 50km by road around the Gulf, which is 45 minutes in winter and can stretch to 90 minutes or more in July and August when summer traffic on the D559 becomes severe. For Saint-Tropez, some passengers arrange a boat transfer from the Hyères peninsula or Port de Saint-Tropez to cut the road time entirely. Porquerolles island ferry departs from Hyères port, about 12km from the airport. Car hire is available at the terminal, and private car services from Toulon or regional chauffeur companies cover the airport routinely.
