Savannah Hilton Head International Airport

KSAV handles both commercial and private traffic on the same field, but private passengers clear through FBO facilities and avoid the commercial terminal entirely. Signature Flight Support is the primary FBO on the field. The airport has no slot requirements and no published noise curfew, making it straightforward to schedule arrivals and departures at any hour.

Savannah is one of the busier charter markets in the Southeast, particularly during spring and fall when the Historic District draws significant visitor traffic. The Masters Tournament in April (Augusta is about 2.5 hours northwest) also drives demand, so expect tighter ramp availability and higher FBO fees in that window. Outside of those peaks, KSAV is an easy airport to operate in and out of.

US Customs is available at KSAV for international arrivals, making it a viable entry point for flights from the Caribbean or Canada without routing through a busier port of entry.

Downtown Savannah's Historic District is about 10 miles from the airport, a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic. Hilton Head Island is roughly 45 miles southeast via US-278, about 50 minutes by car. Most FBOs can arrange car service on request, and Savannah has a solid base of black car operators for charter-level transfers.

Tybee Island, the closest beach to Savannah, is about 25 miles east of the airport. There is no commercial ferry or helicopter transfer service between KSAV and Hilton Head; car is the standard option for that leg.
