About Sheltair
Sheltair operates a full-service FBO at Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport from a 6,500-square-foot terminal located about 15 minutes from Savannah's Historic District. The facility provides a polished arrival experience with passenger and pilot lounges, executive conference rooms, shower facilities, and complimentary refreshments. Crew cars and on-site rental cars are available, making it easy to get moving as soon as you land.
The hangar complex includes large-cabin-class hangars up to 32,000 square feet, capable of sheltering heavy jets and ultra-long-range aircraft. Total ramp space runs about 40,000 square feet, giving the operation room to handle multiple large aircraft simultaneously during busy event weekends. On-field U.S. Customs and Border Protection service supports international arrivals without requiring repositioning to another airport.
Savannah draws a consistent stream of private aviation traffic throughout the year. Spring brings visitors for the Savannah Music Festival and garden tours, fall and winter see steady corporate travel, and the city's film industry has grown substantially. Hilton Head Island, about 45 minutes by car, generates additional seasonal demand from April through October. The airport's two runways, the longest at 9,351 feet, accommodate all jet categories.
Sheltair's concierge team coordinates ground transportation, hotel bookings, and restaurant reservations, with local knowledge of both Savannah proper and the Lowcountry coastal communities. Complimentary interior aircraft cleaning is offered during your stay. The combination of a well-maintained terminal, responsive staff, and proximity to one of America's most walkable historic cities makes Sheltair SAV a strong choice for passengers visiting the Georgia coast.
Amenities and services
Operations at Savannah Hilton Head International Airport
Downtown Savannah's Historic District is about 10 miles from the airport, a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic. Hilton Head Island is roughly 45 miles southeast via US-278, about 50 minutes by car. Most FBOs can arrange car service on request, and Savannah has a solid base of black car operators for charter-level transfers. Tybee Island, the closest beach to Savannah, is about 25 miles east of the airport. There is no commercial ferry or helicopter transfer service between KSAV and Hilton Head; car is the standard option for that leg.
