Mengen-Hohentengen Airfield

Mengen-Hohentengen is a general aviation airfield in the Sigmaringen district of Baden-Württemberg, set in the rolling countryside between the Swabian Alps and Lake Constance. It is not a business aviation hub, but it provides access to a part of southern Germany that Stuttgart and Memmingen require a longer drive to serve. The airfield suits light turboprops and smaller jets better than large cabin aircraft.

The primary based operator, JumpAway Aviation GmbH, runs parachute and sport aviation operations from the field. Facilities are basic by business aviation standards. Expect a small FBO environment without the handling infrastructure of a major regional airport. If you require customs clearance for an international arrival, coordinate in advance, as full customs facilities are not standard at this airfield.

Mengen is roughly 85 km south of Stuttgart, a drive of about one hour via the A81 motorway. Sigmaringen, the nearest town of note, is about 15 km to the north. Lake Constance (Bodensee) is approximately 55 km to the south, around 45 minutes by car. Friedrichshafen on the lake shore is about 50 km away. There is no rail connection directly to the airfield. Car hire or a pre-arranged transfer is the practical option.
