Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport sits on Isla Grande in San Juan Bay, making it the closest airport to the historic and business core of the city. Luis Muñoz Marín International (SJU) is the island's main commercial gateway, roughly 8 miles to the east, but TJIG puts passengers within minutes of Old San Juan, the Condado hotel strip, and the Convention Center district.

The runway is approximately 3,500 feet, which limits the airport to turboprops, light jets, and some midsize jets. Heavy jets and large cabin aircraft will need to operate out of SJU. If your aircraft or itinerary allows it, TJIG saves a significant amount of time compared to clearing through a commercial terminal. Traffic is light and ramp access is straightforward. SJU is about 8 miles to the east via Highway 26, a 15 to 20 minute drive in normal traffic.
