Cyril E. King Airport

Cyril E. King Airport sits on a narrow coastal shelf on the western end of St. Thomas. The single runway (10/28) is approximately 7,000 feet, which accommodates most large-cabin jets including the Gulfstream G550 and Challenger 604. Ramp space is limited, and during peak winter season (December through March) the airport gets congested. Coordinate early with your operator or FBO on parking and handling.

Because the USVI is U.S. territory, domestic arrivals face no customs. International arrivals (including flights from the British Virgin Islands or other Caribbean nations) clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection on arrival. The CBP facility at STT handles private aviation, but wait times during busy periods can stretch. If you are connecting from Tortola or Gustavia, confirm CBP hours with your handler before departure.

Charlotte Amalie is about 3 miles east of the airport, roughly 10 to 15 minutes by taxi depending on traffic. The east end of the island, including Red Hook and the Ritz-Carlton at Great Bay, is 11 to 13 miles away and can take 30 to 45 minutes in peak traffic due to the winding, hilly terrain. Taxi rates on St. Thomas are set by the USVI government and are per-person for shared vans, not metered. Private car service is available through local operators and should be arranged in advance. The Red Hook ferry dock for St. John is about 11 miles from the airport. Water taxi service to nearby islands and superyacht anchorages is available from the Charlotte Amalie waterfront, roughly a 10-minute drive from the terminal.
