Provo Municipal Airport

Provo Municipal sits at 4,497 feet elevation in Utah Valley, flanked by the Wasatch Range to the east and Utah Lake to the west. For private aviation, it is the practical choice when your destination is Provo, Orem, or the southern Wasatch resorts. Salt Lake City International (KSLC) is 44 miles north and handles the bulk of Utah traffic, but KPVU puts you closer to Sundance and avoids the congestion and jet traffic at KSLC.

The airport has no commercial service. FBO ramp space is generally available without advance slot reservations. At 4,497 feet MSL, performance planning matters, particularly in summer when density altitude runs high. Runway 13/31 is the primary runway at 6,103 feet. Fuel and basic handling services are available on the field.

Downtown Provo is about 3 miles from the airport, a 10-minute drive. Brigham Young University is roughly 4 miles east. Sundance Mountain Resort is 17 miles northeast via US-189, typically 25 minutes. Park City and Deer Valley ski resorts are approximately 55 miles north, about an hour via I-15 and US-40. Salt Lake City is 44 miles north on I-15, roughly 45 to 55 minutes depending on traffic. Car rentals are available on-site. For group or resort transfers, car services based in Provo or Salt Lake City serve the airport.
