MBS International Airport

MBS International Airport sits in Freeland at the geographic center of the Saginaw Bay region, making it the practical choice for private flights into mid-Michigan. The airport has a 8,001-foot primary runway capable of handling large-cabin and long-range jets without restriction. Commercial service from American and Delta shares the field, but traffic levels remain low enough that private arrivals rarely encounter the ground delays common at busier reliever airports.

The FBO ramp is separate from the commercial terminal. Expect short taxi times and fast turns. Slots are not required. The airport does not publish noise curfews, though standard noise abatement procedures apply on departure. Saginaw is 8 miles southwest, a 15-minute drive under normal conditions. Midland, headquarters of Dow Inc. and the most common corporate destination in the region, is 17 miles northwest, about 20 minutes. Bay City is 14 miles east, roughly the same drive time. Detroit is 95 miles south on I-75, a 90-minute drive without construction delays. Rental cars are available at the airport. Car service to Midland or Saginaw runs around 20 to 25 minutes; arrange in advance as on-demand options are limited outside business hours.
