Indianapolis International Airport

Indianapolis International Airport handles both commercial and private traffic from the same field, but private passengers use dedicated FBO facilities on the general aviation ramp. JA Aviation, Jet Linx, and Sweet Aviation all operate here, giving you options for hangaring, fuel, and ground handling. The airport sits at 797 feet elevation and has two parallel runways, so delays from runway congestion are rare.

The airport draws significant charter demand around the Indianapolis 500 in late May and the Brickyard 400 in August. If you are flying in for either event, book FBO services and ramp space well in advance. Pricing and availability at all three operators tightens considerably in the weeks surrounding race weekends.

KIND has U.S. Customs and Border Protection on site, which means international arrivals can clear here without diverting to another field. The facility is available by appointment for private international flights.

Downtown Indianapolis is 8 miles northeast of the airport, a 20 to 25 minute drive under normal conditions. I-70 connects the airport directly to the city center. Car service and black car options are well established here given the volume of business travel into Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is 10 miles north of the airport, roughly 20 minutes by car. Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center are both within a 25-minute drive. Rental car facilities are on-site at the terminal.
