Monroe County Airport

Monroe County Airport is the go-to arrival point for Indiana University events, including football weekends, graduation, and IU Health-related travel. The airport sits 3 miles from campus and about 3.5 miles from downtown Bloomington. There are no commercial airline operations here, so the ramp and terminal remain uncongested even during high-demand university weekends.

Aircraft Services Group handles FBO services at KBMG, including fuel, ground handling, and crew amenities. The airport has two runways and can accommodate most light to midsize jets. It is not a 24-hour operation, so confirming arrival times with the FBO in advance is worth doing, especially for late-night returns after games or events.

Downtown Bloomington and the Indiana University campus are both within a 10-minute drive from the airport. Car rental is available on-field, and several car services operate in the area. Indianapolis is roughly 55 miles north via IN-37 and I-69, a drive of about 55 to 65 minutes depending on traffic. Louisville, Kentucky is approximately 95 miles southeast, around 90 minutes by car.
