Gerald R. Ford International Airport

Gerald R. Ford International Airport handles both scheduled airline traffic and private aviation from a single airfield southeast of Grand Rapids. Private jets use the FBO ramp, separate from the commercial terminal, so arrivals and departures are quick without commercial congestion. The airport is not slot-controlled and has no standing restrictions on general aviation operations.

Signature Flight Support operates the primary FBO at KGRR, offering fuel, ramp handling, crew lounges, and passenger amenities. The airport is well-suited for business travel into western Michigan, with a catchment area covering Grand Rapids, Holland, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo. Downtown Grand Rapids is about 10 miles northwest of the airport, typically a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic. Car service and rideshare (Uber and Lyft) are available at the airport. Rental car counters are in the commercial terminal, accessible from the FBO. For destinations along the Lake Michigan shoreline, Holland is about 30 miles west (35 minutes), and Saugatuck is roughly 45 miles and 50 minutes. Kalamazoo is about 50 miles south, a 45 to 55 minute drive.
