About Avflight Grand Rapids
Avflight Grand Rapids opened in 2020 as the second FBO at Gerald R. Ford International Airport, bringing competition to a field that previously had a single operator. The facility occupies a five-acre parcel on the airport's east side and consists of a 5,000-square-foot passenger terminal connected to a 30,000-square-foot hangar. The building was purpose-built with a modern design and convenient access to both the taxiway system and the local highway network, so ground transportation pickup is straightforward. Avflight's team provides full fueling services, expert ground handling, aircraft detailing and washing, de-icing, catering coordination, and 24/7 personal concierge service. Complimentary car washing is offered to passengers who leave vehicles at the facility, and Avflight Network fuel pricing discounts are available for operators in their system. Gerald R. Ford International is Michigan's second-busiest airport and serves the Grand Rapids metropolitan area, a region of roughly one million people with a strong manufacturing, healthcare, and furniture industry base. The airport has two runways, the longest at 10,000 feet, which handles any size business jet. Downtown Grand Rapids is about 15 minutes southeast, and the Lake Michigan shoreline communities of Holland, Saugatuck, and Grand Haven are 30 to 45 minutes west. The opening of Avflight's facility created about 30 jobs and gave charter passengers an alternative with a newer terminal building and a focus on personalized service.
