Fulton County Airport Brown Field

Fulton County Airport is where most private jet traffic into Atlanta actually lands. Hartsfield-Jackson (KATL) is technically an option for charter, but the congestion, ground delays, and distance from the city's business and residential core make KFTY the practical choice for nearly all private aviation. The airport sits in northwest Atlanta, putting passengers significantly closer to Buckhead, Sandy Springs, and Midtown than a landing at Hartsfield ever would.

Epps Aviation is the main FBO and has operated at KFTY for decades. Expect full service: fuel, catering, crew cars, and a passenger lounge. The 5,795-foot runway handles light jets, midsize jets, and most super-midsize aircraft without issue. Larger heavy jets may have performance limitations depending on load and conditions, so confirm with your operator before booking.

The airport has noise abatement procedures in effect during late-night hours. Operations are not available around the clock, so early-morning or late-night departures need to be coordinated with your operator and confirmed against current airport hours. No customs or CBP services are on-site, so KFTY is domestic-only.

Downtown Atlanta is about 10 miles southeast, typically 20 to 30 minutes by car depending on traffic. Buckhead is roughly 6 miles and 15 minutes in normal conditions. Sandy Springs and the Perimeter area are 3 to 5 miles away. The northwest suburbs, including Marietta and Smyrna, are 10 to 15 minutes. Car service and black car pickups are standard from the FBO. Interstate 285 and I-75 are both within a few miles, giving reasonable access to most of the metro area.
