Albany International Airport

Albany International sits in Colonie, NY, about 8 miles from the State Capitol building. As the primary airport serving New York's capital region, it sees consistent private traffic tied to state government, legislative sessions, and lobbying activity. The airport is uncongested by metro New York standards. No slot reservations are required, and same-day general aviation arrivals are routine.

The FBO ramp is separate from the commercial terminal. Expect straightforward handling with no unusual procedural hurdles. The airport has a US Customs and Border Protection facility, making it a viable port of entry for transatlantic or Canadian arrivals into the Capital Region.

Downtown Albany is about 8 miles and 15-20 minutes from the FBO ramp. Saratoga Springs, a common destination during racing season and year-round for spa visitors, is 30 miles north, roughly 35 minutes by car. The Adirondack Park entrance at Lake George is about 55 miles north, under an hour. Boston is approximately 170 miles east via I-90, around 2.5 hours depending on traffic. Manhattan is roughly 150 miles south on I-87, typically 2.5 to 3 hours.

Car service is available through local operators, and rental cars are on the property. There is no helicopter shuttle service to Manhattan from KALB, though charter options exist for passengers continuing further north into the Adirondacks.
