Augusta Regional At Bush Field

Augusta Regional handles modest traffic most of the year, but it transforms into one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country for one week each April during The Masters golf tournament. During Masters week, ramp space is allocated months in advance, slot reservations are mandatory through the FBO, and aircraft that can't secure a spot are routinely staged at Columbia Metropolitan (CAE) roughly 75 miles away, with passengers shuttled in by ground transport or helicopter. If you're flying in for The Masters, contact the FBO no later than December for the following April.

Outside of Masters week, KAGS is a straightforward regional airport with no slot requirements and reliable FBO services. The airport has a dedicated general aviation terminal separate from the commercial concourse, so private passengers avoid the main terminal entirely. Augusta National Golf Club is roughly 10 miles from the ramp.

Downtown Augusta is about 9 miles north of the airport, a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic. Augusta National Golf Club is approximately 10 miles north, and most hotels in the Augusta corridor fall within that same range. Atlanta is 150 miles west via I-20, roughly a 2 hour drive. Columbia, SC is about 75 miles east, just over an hour. Car service and rental cars are available at the airport. During Masters week, road congestion around Augusta is significant and drive times to Augusta National should be padded by 30 to 45 minutes.
