Jersey Airport

Jersey Airport is the sole air gateway to Jersey, a British Crown Dependency with its own customs and immigration regime, separate from the UK and EU. That status matters for private aviation: all arriving and departing passengers clear Jersey Customs on the island, and the airport has general aviation handling facilities to support charter and private operations.

The airport operates under noise abatement restrictions, with a night curfew that limits scheduled and general aviation movements in the late evening and early morning hours. Summer weekends see heavy scheduled traffic from UK regional carriers, so slot coordination is advisable for peak periods between May and September. Outside those windows, the airport is straightforward to operate into and handles a steady flow of business aviation traffic driven by the island's finance sector.

On the ground, private passengers use a dedicated general aviation terminal separate from the main terminal building. The facilities are functional rather than lavish, with customs clearance, car hire desks, and ground handling provided by local operators. Fuel and handling are available during operational hours.

St. Helier, the capital and main business district, is approximately 5 miles east of the airport. The drive takes 10 to 15 minutes by taxi or hire car under normal conditions. Jersey is small enough that anywhere on the island is within 25 minutes of the airport. Taxi and private car hire are available at the terminal. There is no helicopter transfer service to other Channel Islands airports, but Guernsey (EGJB) is a short 15-minute flight for inter-island connections.
