London International Airport

London International Airport is the main aviation gateway for southwestern Ontario, handling scheduled airline service alongside business and charter operations. The airport sits 10 km north of downtown London and offers a notably relaxed operating environment compared to Toronto-area airports: no slot requirements, minimal congestion, and quick ground times.

CBSA customs and immigration is available on-site, making CYXU a practical entry point for US-originating private flights rather than routing through Toronto. The FBO ramp is separate from the commercial terminal, and private passengers typically avoid the airline queues entirely.

The airport is open for operations daily, though overnight movements may be subject to noise abatement procedures. For early-morning or late-night departures, confirm handling availability with your operator or the FBO in advance.

Downtown London is 10 km south of the airport, roughly 15 minutes by car depending on traffic on Wellington Road. The city has no train connection to the airport; car service is the standard option. Rental cars are available on-site from the major agencies.

For passengers continuing beyond London, Toronto is approximately 190 km east via Highway 401, a drive of around two hours. Windsor and the US border crossing at Detroit are roughly 190 km southwest, also about two hours.
