Melbourne Airport is Australia's second busiest airport and the main gateway for private jets into Melbourne. Unlike Sydney, it operates 24 hours with no formal noise curfew, which means flexibility on departure and arrival times that Sydney cannot offer. The airport handles a mix of commercial widebodies, domestic jets, and business aviation traffic across its four terminals and dedicated general aviation aprons.

Business aviation handling is available through operators based on the field. Expect standard international customs and quarantine procedures for inbound international flights. Australia's biosecurity requirements are strict, so crew and handlers should be briefed on what cannot be brought onboard before departure. Pre-clearance is not available, so all international arrivals clear on arrival at Melbourne.

The airport does not operate under a slot system for general aviation, though busy periods around major Melbourne events, including the Australian Open in January and the Formula 1 Grand Prix in March, can create ramp congestion and longer handling lead times.
