Tocumen International Airport

Tocumen is a major international hub and Copa Airlines' base of operations, which means the airport handles heavy commercial traffic around the clock. Private aircraft operate through the general aviation area separate from the main terminal. Expect a busy airspace environment, particularly during peak morning and evening bank times when Copa operates dozens of connecting flights.

The airport is fully equipped for international arrivals and departures, with customs and immigration handled on-site. Panama City's status as a regional financial and logistics hub means the FBO ramp regularly sees corporate traffic from across Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America. Handling agents can arrange everything from catering to ground transportation on arrival.

Panama City's financial district (Punta Pacifica, Miraflores, San Francisco neighborhoods) is approximately 15 to 20 km west of the airport. In light traffic the drive takes 20 to 25 minutes; during morning and afternoon rush hours expect 40 minutes or more on the Corredor Sur toll highway. Car service and executive sedans are available through FBO handlers. The Panama Canal's Miraflores Locks are about 28 km from the airport, roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive.
