Cabo San Lucas International Airport

MMSL is the dedicated general aviation airport for Cabo San Lucas. Flying into MMSL instead of Los Cabos International (MMSD) saves a 45-minute highway drive along the Transpeninsular corridor. For passengers staying in the Cabo San Lucas hotel zone, the Corridor, or Pedregal, MMSL is the practical choice.

The airport handles international arrivals and departures with customs and immigration on site. Ground handling is available from local FBO operators. Ramp space is limited during peak winter and spring break weeks, so coordinate arrival times with your operator in advance. The airport does not have the commercial traffic congestion of MMSD, which means faster turn times and less competition for ground handling staff.

If your destination is San José del Cabo, the East Cape, or the Los Barriles area, MMSD is the better arrival point. For everything west of the Corridor, MMSL wins on proximity.

The Cabo San Lucas marina and main hotel strip is roughly 7 miles from the airport, about 15 to 20 minutes by car. Pedregal and the Pacific-side properties are similarly close. The Corridor resorts (Esperanza, One&Only Palmilla, Las Ventanas) run 20 to 35 minutes depending on traffic. San José del Cabo is roughly 50 minutes.

Car service and SUV transfers can be pre-arranged through the FBO or local transportation companies. Taxis are available at the airport. Traffic on the Transpeninsular highway backs up during peak holiday periods, particularly around Christmas, New Year, and spring break, so budget extra time.
