St George Regional Airport opened in 2011, replacing the old downtown facility with a modern airport on the eastern edge of the city. The airport sits at 2,941 feet elevation in the high desert, which affects aircraft performance, particularly in summer when temperatures regularly exceed 105°F. Plan for density altitude when booking and briefing your crew.

The airport has no slot requirements and no significant congestion outside of holiday weekends around Thanksgiving and Christmas, when southern Utah fills with skiers heading to Brian Head and park visitors taking advantage of mild desert weather. During those windows, FBO ramp space can tighten. Otherwise, it operates with minimal delays and straightforward handling.

There are no customs facilities at KSGU. International arrivals must clear customs at a designated port of entry before landing here.

Getting there

Downtown St George is 7 to 8 miles west of the airport, typically 15 minutes by car. Zion National Park's south entrance is about 43 miles northeast via I-15 and UT-9, roughly 50 minutes in normal traffic. Bryce Canyon National Park is approximately 100 miles north, about 1 hour 45 minutes. Las Vegas McCarran is 120 miles southwest, around 1 hour 50 minutes by car.

Rental cars are available at the airport. Car service and black car options exist but the market is small compared to a major metro, so pre-booking through your FBO is advisable, especially for peak spring and fall park seasons.
