About St. George Jet Center
St. George Jet Center operates from a newly remodeled 35,000-square-foot facility on the northwest side of St. George Regional Airport, which opened in 2011 as a replacement for the older, land-locked St. George Municipal Airport. The new airport sits at 2,941 feet elevation with a 9,300-foot runway that can handle large-cabin jets, a significant upgrade from the previous facility's constraints.
The terminal provides passenger and crew lounges, flight planning resources, and basic amenities for travelers arriving in Utah's red rock country. The FBO handles fueling, hangar storage, and ground support, and can coordinate rental cars and ground transportation to local hotels and resorts.
St. George's location makes it the primary private aviation gateway to Zion National Park, just 45 minutes northeast, and Bryce Canyon National Park, about 90 minutes north. Snow Canyon State Park is even closer at 15 minutes. The city itself has grown rapidly as a retirement and recreation destination, with year-round warm weather, over a dozen golf courses, and a thriving outdoor recreation economy that includes mountain biking, hiking, and rock climbing.
The airport serves as an increasingly popular alternative to Las Vegas for passengers heading to southern Utah's national parks. Rather than landing at McCarran and driving four to five hours, flying directly into St. George cuts the ground leg to well under an hour for Zion access. St. George Jet Center competes on the field with Million Air for transient private aviation traffic, and the facility's recent remodeling positions it as a modern option for passengers who want efficient service in a growing desert community.
Amenities and services
Operations at St George Regional Airport
Downtown St George is 7 to 8 miles west of the airport, typically 15 minutes by car. Zion National Park's south entrance is about 43 miles northeast via I-15 and UT-9, roughly 50 minutes in normal traffic. Bryce Canyon National Park is approximately 100 miles north, about 1 hour 45 minutes. Las Vegas McCarran is 120 miles southwest, around 1 hour 50 minutes by car. Rental cars are available at the airport. Car service and black car options exist but the market is small compared to a major metro, so pre-booking through your FBO is advisable, especially for peak spring and fall park seasons.
