St. Petersburg Clearwater International sits in Pinellas Park, roughly equidistant between St. Petersburg and Clearwater. For private aviation, it offers a practical alternative to Tampa International (KTPA), which is 20 miles to the northeast and considerably busier. No slot requirements, no gate constraints, and significantly shorter ramp-to-car times make KPIE the preferred entry point for passengers headed to the beaches, Isla del Sol, or downtown St. Pete.

The airport has commercial service via Allegiant, but the private terminal operates separately from the commercial side. Sheltair handles FBO services on the field. The airport sees meaningful charter and fractional traffic, particularly during spring training season when teams based in the Tampa Bay area draw visitors from across the country.
