About Jet Aviation
Jet Aviation opened its Opa-Locka Executive Airport facility in late 2025, occupying a new 27-acre campus on the airport's west side. The build-out includes two 20,000 sq ft hangars and a dedicated private ramp, with an 8,500 sq ft terminal designed around VIP passenger handling rather than the mixed general aviation traffic typical of larger FBOs.
At 8,500 sq ft, the terminal prioritizes focus over volume. The design and staffing model orient toward discrete arrivals and departures rather than high throughput, which suits the passenger profile that selects Opa-Locka specifically to avoid Miami International's scale and congestion. IS-BAH certification standards govern ground handling procedures, covering documentation requirements, trained crew standards, and third-party safety audits.
Sustainable aviation fuel is available at this location, addressing the growing requirement from corporate flight departments tracking scope 1 and 3 emissions. SAF availability at Opa-Locka gives operators a refueling option for Miami-area visits that supports sustainability reporting without requiring a diversion to a separate facility.
Opa-Locka's primary runway measures 8,002 ft, making it one of the longest general aviation runways in the United States. This length handles heavy jets and ultra-long-range aircraft without performance planning limitations, which expands the practical aircraft types that can use KOPF for fuel stops or staging.
The airport sits 11 miles north of downtown Miami. Ground transport to Brickell or downtown takes around 25 minutes under moderate conditions. South Beach runs approximately 30 minutes. Jet Aviation's global network spans FBO and MRO locations across North America, Europe, and Asia, giving operators with international itineraries a consistent account structure at Miami-area stops.
The facility runs 24 hours a day. Both hangars accommodate large-cabin aircraft.

Operations at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport
Downtown Miami is about 14 miles southeast, typically 25 to 40 minutes by car depending on traffic on the 836 or I-95. Miami Beach is roughly 18 miles, usually 30 to 50 minutes. Brickell and Wynwood are both under 15 miles. Car service and SUV transport are easy to arrange through the FBOs. The airport is not well-served by rideshare pickup directly at the ramp, so pre-arranged ground transport is the practical option for most passengers.
