About Signature Flight Support

Signature Flight Support operates the sole FBO at Miami International Airport, handling all private aviation through the General Aviation Center on the north side of the field at NW 36th Street and 57th Avenue. As the only private terminal at one of the busiest international airports in the Western Hemisphere, Signature MIA processes an enormous volume of traffic, particularly flights connecting to and from the Caribbean, Latin America, and Europe.

The facility operates around the clock with on-site U.S. Customs and Border Protection providing expedited clearance for international arrivals. This is the primary draw for choosing MIA over the competing airports in the Miami market. The FBO accommodates all jet sizes, from light jets to Boeing Business Jets and long-range Gulfstreams and Globals, with vehicle-to-aircraft access that keeps the arrival and departure process smooth.

The terminal includes passenger lounges, crew amenities, Wi-Fi, and concierge services. Ground transportation into Miami Beach, Brickell, Coral Gables, or anywhere in the metro area is readily arranged. The drive to South Beach is about 20 minutes east, and the Brickell financial district is about 15 minutes south.

Miami International's three runways, the longest at 13,000 feet, provide ample capacity for any operation. The airport's international gateway status and CBP presence make it the natural choice for cross-border private flights that need formal customs processing.

For passengers who do not need customs, Miami-Opa Locka Executive or Fort Lauderdale Executive may offer a less congested experience. But for international arrivals, Signature MIA is the required point of entry. The sheer volume of traffic means the staff is experienced with complex operations, multilingual passengers, and the logistics of connecting flights. It is an efficient, professional operation at a genuinely international airport.

Downtown Miami and Brickell are 8 miles east of the airport, typically 15 to 20 minutes by car in light traffic. Miami Beach is about 11 miles via the MacArthur or Julia Tuttle Causeway, usually 25 to 35 minutes depending on causeway traffic, which backs up frequently during season. Coral Gables is 10 minutes south. Fort Lauderdale is 28 miles north on I-95, running 35 to 50 minutes outside rush hour and longer during peak times. Black car and SUV services are the standard option. Helicopter transfers to Miami Beach or Fisher Island are available through several South Florida operators and cut door-to-door time significantly during heavy causeway congestion.
