El Paso International Airport

El Paso International sits at 3,959 feet elevation on the west Texas desert, which affects aircraft performance calculations on hot summer days when temperatures regularly exceed 100°F. Pilots and operators factor density altitude into payload and fuel planning here. For passengers, this is a straightforward airport with no slot requirements and no significant congestion for general aviation traffic.

The airport has US Customs facilities, which makes it a practical entry point for flights arriving from Mexico. Charter passengers crossing from Ciudad Juárez or other Mexican destinations can clear customs here rather than routing through a larger hub. Cutter Aviation and Million Air both operate FBOs at KELP with ramp space, fuel, and crew lounges.

Biggs Army Air Field (KBIF) is adjacent to the airport on Fort Bliss and handles military traffic. It is not available for civilian charter use, but its proximity means the airspace around KELP can be busy with military flight activity, particularly on weekdays.

Ciudad Juárez, Mexico is accessible via the Bridge of the Americas or other border crossings, roughly 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic and wait times at the port of entry. White Sands National Park is about 90 miles east on US-70. Las Cruces, New Mexico is 45 miles northwest via I-10, around 40 minutes.
