Columbia Regional Airport

Columbia Regional sits about 10 miles southeast of downtown Columbia, serving Boone County and the University of Missouri. Private traffic here is steady around university events, graduation weekends, and Mizzou football home games, when ramp space can fill quickly. Plan ahead during those windows.

The airport has commercial airline service alongside general aviation, which means a functioning terminal and fuel available around the clock. The FBO handles private arrivals separately from the commercial side. Facilities are functional rather than lavish, but the experience is straightforward with minimal congestion outside peak event dates.

Downtown Columbia is about 10 miles from the airport, a 15-minute drive. The University of Missouri campus is roughly the same distance, also 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. Rental cars are available on site. Car services and rideshares operate in Columbia, though availability can tighten during large university events.

Kansas City is about 125 miles west, roughly a 1 hour 45 minute drive on I-70. St. Louis is about 130 miles east, also around 2 hours. The airport is often used as a halfway stop between those two cities for passengers who don't want to deal with either metro.
