Canyonlands Regional Airport

Canyonlands Regional Airport sits at 4,557 feet elevation on the Colorado Plateau, 16 miles north of Moab. It is the only commercial-service airport within reasonable driving distance of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, which makes it a practical private aviation destination from spring through fall when the parks see peak visitation.

The single runway runs 7,100 feet, which accommodates most midsize and super-midsize jets without restriction. High-density altitude conditions apply in summer months, particularly on hot afternoons when field elevation and temperature combine to affect climb performance. Most operators plan arrivals and departures for morning hours in July and August.

FBO facilities are modest. Expect fuel, a crew lounge, and basic passenger amenities. This is not a white-glove FBO experience, but it is clean and functional for a quick turn. No slot requirements, no noise curfews that affect typical charter operations.

The drive from the airport to Moab takes about 20 minutes via US-191. Car rental is available at the airport, and most charter passengers arrange a rental or private car service in advance since rideshare options in Moab are limited.

Arches National Park entrance is roughly 8 miles from Moab, putting it about 30 minutes from the airport. Canyonlands Island in the Sky district is 35 miles southwest of Moab, around 50 minutes by car. Dead Horse Point State Park is accessible en route to Canyonlands. There is no helicopter transfer service operating from the airport.
