Muskoka Airport

Muskoka Airport is the primary air access point for Ontario's cottage country, handling the mix of turboprops and light-to-midsize jets that serve the region's seasonal demand. The airport sits just outside Gravenhurst and is the practical choice for anyone heading to properties on Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, or Lake Joseph without the two-hour drive from Toronto.

The airport is uncontrolled, which keeps things simple for private operations. No slots, no ATC ground delays. Traffic is dominated by charter arrivals during summer weekends and long weekends in May through October. Plan for busier ramp conditions on Friday afternoons from late June through August. Winter flying is possible but the airport's services are reduced off-season.

CYQA is not a customs port of entry. Cross-border arrivals from the US must clear at a designated CBSA airport before landing here.

Gravenhurst town centre is about 8 km from the airport, a 10-minute drive. Port Carling, the hub of the lakes district, is roughly 35 km west, around 35-40 minutes by car. Bracebridge is 25 km north. Huntsville is about 75 km north, just under an hour.

There is no scheduled car service at the airport. Most private passengers arrange car hire or have cottages send a boat to a nearby marina. Seaplane connections to waterfront properties on the lakes are available through local operators during summer.
