Kelowna International Airport

Kelowna International Airport is the busiest airport in BC's Interior and the primary entry point for the Okanagan Valley. Private aviation traffic peaks in two seasons: winter (ski traffic to Big White and Silver Star) and summer (wine tourism, golf, and lake access). The airport has a functioning control tower and Canada Border Services Agency on site, so it handles international arrivals without diverting to Vancouver.

The FBO facilities at Kelowna are functional rather than lavish. Expect standard ground handling, fuel, and a crew lounge. The ramp is uncluttered compared to major metro airports. Slot requirements are not in place, and congestion is rarely an issue outside of holiday weekends. Aircraft parking is straightforward for most cabin sizes.

Downtown Kelowna is 4 km south of the airport, a 10-minute drive. Big White Ski Resort is 57 km southeast, roughly 50 minutes in normal conditions (allow extra time in winter). Vernon is 48 km north, about 35 minutes. Penticton is 64 km south, about 45 minutes. Car rentals are available at the terminal. Taxis, ride-share, and pre-arranged car service all operate out of Kelowna. No helicopter shuttle services are established here.
