Halifax / Stanfield International Airport

Halifax Stanfield handles both commercial and private traffic on the same airfield, but the private aviation infrastructure is well-developed. Execaire, Skyservice, and NovaJet all operate at CYHZ, giving arriving and departing charter passengers multiple FBO options for fuel, handling, and ground services. NovaJet is a Maritime-based operator, so local knowledge and regional connectivity are genuine strengths here.

The airport is designated as an international port of entry with CBSA customs and immigration on site, which matters for flights arriving from the US or international destinations. No slot coordination is required. The airport operates around the clock, and there are no hard curfew restrictions that affect private jet operations, though standard noise abatement procedures apply for departures late at night.

Halifax is the economic and government center of Atlantic Canada, and CYHZ is the only realistic private jet option for the region. The nearest alternative with comparable services is Moncton (CYQM), roughly 170 km away.

Downtown Halifax is 36 km from the terminal, typically a 35 to 45 minute drive depending on traffic on Highway 102. Car rentals are available at the airport. Taxis and rideshare services operate from the terminal, with fares to downtown running approximately CAD $65 to $85. There is no helicopter transfer service to the city center.
