About Gateway Aviation
Gateway Aviation operates the largest FBO at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, with the biggest apron and hangar space on the field. The facility greets arriving passengers in a comfortable reception area complete with a fireplace and a breakfast nook offering fresh pastries, hot coffee, and complimentary treats at any hour. The passenger lounge can accommodate full sit-down meals, and crew members have access to a dedicated lounge and pilot snooze rooms for overnight stops. The ramp includes two gates capable of handling aircraft as large as a Boeing 757 and 747-400F simultaneously, while the 13,000 square-foot heated hangar accommodates business jets up to the size of a Bombardier RJ-200. Gateway provides 24/7 fueling with Jet A and 100LL, de-icing services, weather packages, and a full-service flight planning room. Free WiFi is available throughout the terminal. Local shuttle service is offered for passengers needing ground transport, and the FBO can coordinate car rentals and hotel bookings. Halifax Stanfield is about 35 minutes from downtown Halifax, serving as the primary gateway to Nova Scotia and the Maritime provinces. Gateway has been consistently rated as one of Canada's top FBOs, earning recognition in industry surveys for service quality. The facility also operates executive jet charter services and refrigerated cargo handling, reflecting its diverse role at the airport. For charter passengers, Gateway provides ice and coffee for aircraft provisioning, complimentary hot beverages and snacks in the terminal, and a generally unhurried Maritime hospitality approach.
