Monterrey International Airport

Monterrey is northern Mexico's largest business hub, home to major Mexican conglomerates including FEMSA, ALFA, Cemex, and Vitro, plus dozens of multinational manufacturing operations. Private passengers fly into MMMY almost exclusively for corporate travel: board meetings in San Pedro Garza García, plant visits in the industrial corridors north and south of the city, or regional executive travel within northeast Mexico. The airport handles both commercial and general aviation traffic on the same field, so FBO services operate alongside terminal operations rather than at a separate facility.

As an international airport, MMMY has full customs and immigration capabilities on-site. Inbound private flights from the US or elsewhere clear customs here without diverting to a gateway airport. Arrival coordination with your operator or FBO handler in advance is standard practice; walk-in private arrivals without prior notice can face delays at customs. The airport operates around the clock, which matters for early morning or late evening business departures common in this market.

Downtown Monterrey is roughly 15 miles southwest of the airport, a 30 to 40 minute drive under normal conditions. San Pedro Garza García, where most corporate headquarters and upscale hotels are concentrated, runs about 20 miles from the terminal and typically takes 40 to 55 minutes during weekday rush hours on the Periférico or Avenida Constitución. Car service is the standard transfer method; hotel concierges and local ground transport companies can arrange meet-and-greet service. No rail connection exists between the airport and the city.
