Naples Capodichino (LIRN) is a busy mixed-use airport handling both commercial and private operations. Private jets share infrastructure with scheduled carriers, so expect coordination requirements during peak summer months when traffic from holidaymakers heading to the Amalfi Coast and the islands surges. Slot requirements apply during high-demand periods, and ground handlers should be contacted well in advance for summer arrivals.

The FBO and handling options are more limited than at a dedicated GA facility. Ground handling is available through operators at the airport, but the experience reflects a commercial airport environment rather than a private terminal. Clear customs on arrival for non-Schengen flights. EU passport holders arriving from within Schengen clear without customs formalities.

Naples city center is roughly 7km from the terminal, about 15 to 20 minutes by car in normal traffic. The Amalfi Coast town of Positano is approximately 60km away, typically 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the season and road conditions along the SS163 coastal road. Sorrento is about 55km, around 1 hour. Pompeii is 25km, roughly 30 to 40 minutes. For Capri and Ischia, the most practical route is car transfer to Naples Molo Beverello ferry terminal (about 5km from the airport), then a hydrofoil to Capri (50 minutes) or Ischia (1 hour 15 minutes). Private car and chauffeur services are widely available and advisable over taxis for longer transfers.
