About Odyssey Aviation Golden Isles
Odyssey Aviation Golden Isles provides full FBO services at McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport, located six miles east of Brunswick on Georgia's barrier island coast. The facility is the closest airport to Sea Island, home of The Cloister and The Lodge, two of the Southeast's most exclusive resort properties that have hosted G8 summits and draw a steady flow of private aviation traffic.
The terminal features a pool, fitness center, and putting green, along with a pilot lounge, quiet room, showers, and conference and flight planning rooms. An adjacent Hilton Home2 Suites provides on-site lodging for crews on overnight layovers, a convenience that eliminates the need for hotel shuttles. Avis and Hertz rental car counters operate from the FBO lobby, and courtesy cars are available for local trips. Nearby dining options are accessible without leaving St. Simons Island.
The FBO operates from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, with after-hours service available for fees starting at $50 per hour. Passengers arriving outside normal hours should coordinate timing in advance to ensure ground handling is ready.
St. Simons Island and its neighboring barrier islands, Jekyll Island and Sea Island, form the Golden Isles, a stretch of Georgia coast known for live oak canopies, salt marshes, championship golf courses, and a relaxed pace that contrasts with the more developed resort areas to the south. The airport's 5,800-foot runway accommodates light and midsize jets, though passengers in larger aircraft may need to use Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (KBQK) on the mainland, which has a 8,001-foot runway. For Sea Island guests and Golden Isles visitors, Odyssey Aviation provides the most direct arrival experience.
