San Luis County Regional Airport

KSBP sits between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Central Coast, making it the practical choice for anyone headed to San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, or Paso Robles without fighting through a major metro airport. The field is uncongested with no slot requirements, and the tower hours are reasonable for most charter itineraries. Light jets and mid-size aircraft have no issues here; the main runway at 6,120 feet handles most of the charter fleet comfortably.

Jackson Jet Center is the primary FBO and handles most private traffic at the field. Ground handling is straightforward. The airport also sees scheduled commercial service, but private operations are handled separately and the ramp experience is quick. Noise abatement procedures are in place for departures over residential areas, so expect your crew to brief you on departure headings.

Downtown San Luis Obispo is 3 miles north of the airport, a 10-minute drive. Pismo Beach and the coastal towns are about 12 miles southwest, roughly 20 minutes. Paso Robles, the center of the Central Coast wine region, is 30 miles north on US-101, about 35 minutes by car. Car rental is available at the airport. There is no helicopter transfer service at this field.
