Pensacola International Airport

Pensacola International Airport handles both commercial and general aviation traffic, with private jets using the dedicated FBO facilities on the south side of the field. The airport operates 24 hours and has no slot restrictions, so scheduling is straightforward. Runway 17/35 is 7,004 feet, which accommodates most heavy cabin jets without restriction.

The primary FBOs serving private aviation are Signature Flight Support and Emerald Coast Aviation. Both offer hangars, crew cars, and ramp-side passenger handling. Pensacola is a mid-size market, so ramp congestion is rarely an issue outside of major events like Blue Angels air shows or Navy Week, when the apron fills quickly.

Customs and Border Protection is not permanently stationed at KPNS. International arrivals require pre-coordination through CBP's APIS system and advance notice to the FBO, who will arrange inspection. Most private passengers flying internationally prefer to clear at a larger hub and position into Pensacola on a domestic leg.

Downtown Pensacola is 4 miles from the terminal, typically 10 minutes by car. Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island is about 20 miles southeast, a 25 to 30 minute drive across the Pensacola Bay Bridge. Destin and the Emerald Coast are roughly 50 miles east, around 55 minutes without traffic. Car rentals are available at the terminal, and several car services operate locally. Uber and Lyft are active in the market. For beach access, most passengers drive or arrange a car service directly to their resort.
