About Aero Center Atlanta
Aero Center Atlanta sits at 1 Aviation Way on DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, 15 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. The facility traces its roots to 1965, when Pat Epps, son of aviation pioneer Ben Epps, founded what became one of Atlanta's most recognized private aviation operations. SAR Trilogy Management acquired the business in January 2023 and rebranded it from Epps Aviation to Aero Center Atlanta, while keeping the same 150-person team and 21-acre footprint in place.
For charter passengers, the practical facts are straightforward. The primary hangar spans 40,000 square feet, with full maintenance and avionics capabilities on site alongside fueling and charter coordination. The team handles everything from arrival to departure without you needing to coordinate across vendors. If your aircraft needs a quick turn or an overnight, the crew knows the ramp and the procedures here.
The airport itself gives you a real alternative to Hartsfield-Jackson. At 11 miles northeast of the city center, you can reach Buckhead, Midtown, or the Perimeter business corridor faster from PDK than from ATL, and without the ground traffic that builds around the world's busiest airport. Taxis, rideshare, and FBO-arranged ground transport all have straightforward access from the field.
If you fly into Atlanta regularly for business, the combination of a staffed, experienced FBO team and a suburban location with good road access to the north Atlanta corridor makes PDK worth considering over the congestion at ATL. The Aero Center Atlanta team handles roughly the same mix of light jets, mid-cabin aircraft, and heavy iron that PDK has always attracted, and the infrastructure to support all of it is here.

Operations at DeKalb Peachtree Airport
Downtown Atlanta is 11 miles southwest, typically 20 to 25 minutes by car. Buckhead is 8 miles and runs 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic. Perimeter Center and Dunwoody are 10 to 15 minutes north. Alpharetta is roughly 25 miles and 30 to 35 minutes depending on I-285 and GA-400 conditions. Peachtree Industrial Boulevard sees afternoon congestion, so eastside routes can be quicker during peak hours. Car service and black car companies serving private aviation passengers are available through the FBOs on field.
